We at WENZEL analyze technical possibilities and innovations especially with regard to the benefit they offer our customers: Which measuring task can I solve better or faster with new technology? What new areas of application are possible for our products that did not exist before? From the many buzzwords we have concentrated on the following.

 

 

OPTICS - The importance of optical sensors in coordinate metrology has been increasing for several years. We at WENZEL have developed various solutions for this purpose, which are increasingly in demand from our customers . Our CORE solution - high-speed scanning with white spot sensor - and our CT product family are unique and successful. With the Shapetracer - in future known as WM | LS120 - we have had a competitive product on the market for years with which enables an optical sensor to be used on a CMM but many customers have missed being able to use it in the same software. Therefore we have integrated the CORE as well as the different optical sensors into our WM | Quartis. We at WENZEL always want to offer our customers the best solution, therefore we have extended our sensor family together with KREON. Optical sensors are not only used stationary, but also often mobile on measuring arms. Here, too, we at WENZEL have created a new solution!

 

 

INLINE - The trend is clear, what is the answer from WENZEL. There’s not one, there’s different ones. Since integrated production at our customers looks very different, we also have flexibly differentiated solutions for this. Our developers have invested a lot in the special CMMs -SF55 and SF87 - in order to reduce the dependence of the measurement results on temperature, dirt, etc. The CORE and the CT-U are also designed in such a way that they can excel when used on the shop floor. Technology is one thing, operability the other. Complex software solutions do not work well in the fast cycle of production. Therefore, we invest a lot in new operating concepts and interfaces.

 

 

 

AUTOMATION - When introducing an automation system, the question of occupational safety immediately arises in addition to integration into a production cell. With the WENZEL Automation Interface (WAI) we have created a very good basis for solving these issues. More and more customers expect an automation solution from us - fast, flexible but standardized. Therefore we at WENZEL unify all approaches to the different scenarios under a new software family.

 

FEEDBACK - At WENZEL we address two types of feedback. By closed loop we mean the opportunity for direct communication between measured value analysis and setting the parameters of the processing machine. The faster we can pass on the results of the measurement to the processing machine, the lower the amount of rejects produced. On the other hand, the INLINE trend increases the demand for machine reliability. Together with our service department, we work on predictive maintenance scenarios that identify weak points before failures occur.

 

SOFTWARE - There is currently no development in measurement technology that does not present a major challenge to software. We at WENZEL have developed many innovations here, our WM | SYS Analyzer, our new solution for measuring gears on a classic CMM -WM | Gear and WM | Gear Analyzer, as well as the modules WM | Blade Analyzer and the first vision of our automatic measuring program generator WM | Generator.

 

 

These trends challenge us at WENZEL every day. Innovation means costs and risks, but it also offers us development opportunities. Important for us at WENZEL also is our tradition as a mechanical engineer. For us, the production of a high-precision coordinate measuring machine begins with a passion for good craftsmanship. The selection of the materials used must be made carefully and on the basis of the desired quality, not on the best possible deal from the supplier. This is our tradition and we are certain that there are no better quality machines on the market.
